Color Bazaar has been serving the paint and decorating needs of western Kentucky and the surrounding area since 1973. Owners, Gale and John Chambers, pride themselves in offering quality decorating products, including paint, flooring, wallpaper and window treatments. Color Bazaar also offers the services of paint contracting, interior decorating, flooring and window treatment installation, and custom picture framing.

Over the past 37 years, Color Bazaar has become a trusted advisor for residential and commercial customers all around the region. However, Color Bazaar is also recognized as a leader in the retail paint and decorating industry. Over the years, Color Bazaar has appeared multiple times in the most notable trade publication of the retail paint and decorating industry, Decorating Retailer.

In 2001, Gale and John's son, Shannon Chambers, opened Kentucky Furniture Mart, just a few doors down the street. Kentucky Furniture Mart specializes in better quality furniture, mattress and accessories.

Together, the two businesses provide for the majority of your home furnishing and decorating needs. Both staffs are committed to providing valuable, courteous, and professional service throughout your project.

Color Bazaar

Gale Chambers, Interior Decorator/Owner - Gale has been decorating homes and businesses in western Kentucky, western Tennessee, and southern Illinois since 1973. Her commercial clients include banks, restaurants, funeral homes and many professional offices. She enjoys volunteering at Britthaven Nursing Home on Tuesdays to do "pretty nails" for the residents. She also teaches youth Sunday School at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. She says entertaining friends and family at the lake is the highlight of her summer. And don't get her started about her four grandchildren...

John Chambers, Paint Contractor/Owner - John has been a painting contractor for 38 years. Approximately a year after starting painting, he and Gale opened Color Bazaar. He has earned many loyal customers because of his attention to detail and quality of workmanship. Over the last several years, he has specialized in unique finish techniques, including: wood graining of exterior metal doors, faux finishes on interior walls, and glazing on cabinets.

Donna Forsythe, Decorating Consultant - Donna has been a part of the Color Bazaar family for 13 years. She enjoys working with customers and choosing all the beautiful colors. She thinks helping with all the do-it-yourself projects is fun because, "not only can I help the customer learn something new, but I usually learn something new with each project". She says each customer brings excitement and creativity to her day.

Carla Wyatt, Decorating Consultant/Assistant Office Manager - Carla has been with Color Bazaar since 1997. She enjoys working with the customers, seeing their excitement and watching their projects come together. Her previous experience of 30 years in banking enables her to make sure all operations run smoothly.

Kentucky Furniture Mart

Carolyn Brasher, Decorating Consultant - Carolyn joined the Kentucky Furniture Mart staff in 2008. She knows so many people in the community from her years working in the Marshall and Calloway County PVA Offices, and also being a pastor's wife. She enjoys working with customers to help them find just the right item for them and their families.

Shannon Chambers, President/Owner - Shannon started his career at the age of 9. He rode the bus after school to his parents' business, Color Bazaar, and open boxes, stock shelves, and swept floors. While in high school and college, Shannon worked for his father's paint contracting business. He earned an undergraduate degree in Management and also a Masters in Business Administration from Murray State University. After college, he worked several years in Color Bazaar getting more experience in flooring, paint coatings and decorating. In September of 2001, Shannon opened Kentucky Furniture Mart, specializing in better quality furniture and mattresses. He appreciates the importance of providing value through quality products and dedicated service to his customers.

Tyler Coriell, Delivery - Tyler helps with delivery, warehouse and maintenance. He is very hard-working and reliable. Tyler is in the Pre-Med program at Murray State University.

Dotty Elliott, Decorating Consultant - Dotty Elliott is a veteran decorator/interior designer. She owned her own decorating franchise for 25 years prior to retiring. Because of her decorating experience and warm personality, Dotty has many loyal customers. Dotty has been with the Kentucky Furniture Mart family since 2006.

Gary Hill, Warehouse & Delivery - Gary retired from the General Tire Plant in Mayfield, KY after 38 years of dedicated service. He joined our staff in 2007. Gary takes care of deliveries, warehouse and maintenance for Kentucky Furniture Mart. He also takes care of window treatment installation for Color Bazaar.
